Carteret County-Beaufort Airport Authority

The purpose of the Carteret County – Beaufort Airport Authority is to manage the operation, maintenance and improvement of air services and facilities for the use, convenience, and benefit of the air traveling public. The Authority shall seek to improve the economy, safety, and welfare of Carteret County and shall promote the airport in the communities it serves.

Vision

Provide a safe, modern, self-sustaining general aviation environment that will stimulate new,
and enhance existing economic, industrial, educational, and recreational growth and
opportunities for Carteret County and the Crystal Coast.

Mission

To realize our vision, the Airport Authority must maintain an active and effective leadership role
within the community. Through available social media resources, we must effectively
communicate our aviation capabilities and how they complement the goals and objectives of
Carteret County. We must strive to adopt industry best practices and operate in the most cost-
effective manner possible. We must continue to seek out and identify time-sensitive business
opportunities through Local, State and National organizations, and be prepared to capitalize on
those that are a best fit for our county and our citizens.

- Maintain an effective leadership / management structure.
- Increase revenue generated by airport operations.
- Provide maintenance building for tractor and equipment.
- Acquire remaining property for runway extension.
- Continue to develop property for more ground lease growth.
- Continue to develop potential hangar space for future growth.
- Terminal Building Development planning and seeking of funding opportunities.
- Continue to meet safety, security, legal standards.
- Enhance the appearance, accessibility and community awareness of the airport and its
  capabilities.
